Anyone been there in the past few weeks? If so, what did you use to catch and where and how? I've been there before but never really caught a lot. Only about 2 or three in 4 hours. So help me! Thanks!

Go on the flats and throw a gambler ez swimmer. You will have to mow through a bunch of slop, but the fish are there.

When the water is low, fish the canals. When the water is high, fish the flats off  the marsh cuts. Right now, the water is high and water management is moving a lot of water so it's the flats until Fall/Early Winter. There is a lot more water on the way so it will be this way for the forseeable future.

I was out there this morning...tried everything under the sun and only brought in a couple bass.  Unless you can get deeper in the marsh you won't have great luck this time of year.  Even L-67 off the trail has slowed down.  There are some nice spots further north on US-27.  We killed it up that way just a few days ago.  Dark worms and gold/black stick baits worked well.  Good luck!

be careful with your vehicles on the alley. MANY trucks are being stolen. They seem to be "nice" thieves, because they are leaving the trailers. i know of over 20 trucks that have been stolen all along the alley. its obviously a ring

BassinLou...we fished the west side of US-27.  There's a ramp right on the Broward/Palm Beach Line...it's hidden so you gotta really look out for it.  Run about a mile south and start fishing the finger canals.  There's nice current hitting the tips of each finger and lots of ambush zones.  Best part is that the marsh is pretty much filled in so the fish stay in the canal in this area.

I only hope everyone catches and releases here...would be a shame for this to get fished out.  When I was there we fished from about 7AM - 12 and brought in a ton of fish.  Evening fishing should be even better!

Good luck!

Thanks MiamiMike, I know the ramp you are talking about. I have not fished that area a lot this year. I do not know if you are aware of it or not but if you drive right over the county line you are referring to, the entrance to the Holey Lands is right there. The only thing is that the reports from there right now say that the fishing is slow.

Yeah, the entrance to the Holey Lands is right after the county border, you do your first U-turn and you will see the sign and entrance on the right off 27. It's 6 miles West from there to the ramp.

I fished Holiday on Monday while dodging rainstorms.  It was really slow and like previously mentioned there is a ton of water moving through there...Anyone hit the lake recently?
