JeziHogg Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Anyone having problems with the bills as of recent? I went out today and cracked or chipped off giant pieces of the bill on 4 of them today. Quote
Super User Marty Posted June 26, 2013 Super User Posted June 26, 2013 I hope you bring this to Strike King's attention and request either refunds or replacement lures. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted June 27, 2013 Super User Posted June 27, 2013 ya i had that problem earlier. send them in to strike king and you get lots of replacements Quote
Jake Coucoules Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I have the same problem and it really shows strike kings quality control. Sometimes you get a good one that lasts for a while then sometimes you get a bait that breaks the first day Quote
BassAssassin726 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I'm a big fan of the 1.5 and 2.5, and use them a lot. Never had a problem with either. I try and bang them into crap as much as possible and never had a bill crack. Probably just a few defects in a production run. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted June 27, 2013 Super User Posted June 27, 2013 They're my go-to squarebill. Never had a problem. Contact Strike King and have some pictures ready to send them. I hear their customer service is top-notch. Quote
jhoffman Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 love that 2.5 i dont even bother with the 1.5 most times because even a 8" perch will try to eat a 2.5 Quote
CTGalloway21 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 never broke a bill on any crankbait. I mainly use Bandits though. Quote
Revival Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I havent experienced the same exact problem but 2 of my recents 1.0's run way left and it drives me crazy. I researched how to tune it but the ring is so small that its a PITA to get a hold of it. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted June 27, 2013 Global Moderator Posted June 27, 2013 The only time I had one break was when I was casting to a dock last week and missed the water! [Yeah... OK... like you never did that! It landed on the dock and the corner broke off. Mike Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Strike King is very good about replacing broken lures. Quote
Zach P Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I've never experienced a problem with SK KVD squarebills. Mine have always run very well Quote
buzzfrog Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I cracked 2 last week, is it worth digging in the trash for them. Do they send you a small lot or a straight replacement. Not lOokin for handout but is it worth looking through crap Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted June 27, 2013 Super User Posted June 27, 2013 I broke the bill on one but I hit my friend in the back of the head with it. Does that count? That's the blood you see from where the bill cut him. The 2/3 trebles I buried didn't cause it haha Quote
motodmast Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 i broke one also, a kvd 1.5 sent it to strike king and they sent me back a new one and like 5 other lures free of charge. very good customer service Quote
ColdSVT Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 love that 2.5 i dont even bother with the 1.5 most times because even a 8" perch will try to eat a 2.5 I had a 6inch perch eat a 6XD the other day...he was hungry! Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I just bought two the other day, both seem fine. I haven't run them hard yet, but one half day of fishing and they still look good. Hopefully you just got some from a bad batch and overall quality isn't slipping. Quote
JeziHogg Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 Ya, I just got these ones from BPS a few weeks ago, I fish squarebills pretty hard, lots of rocks around here - Its not the first time ive cracked the bills, but 4 in one day right out of the package d**n. Good news is that I emailed SK and they said they would replace them no questions asked and give me a few extras for my troubles. Quote
detroit1 Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Who do I call about the pike that took one of mine earlier this year? Quote
