rowyourboat Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 what do you guys recommend for a good pitchin reel. id like to keep it under 200 if possible. i was looking at the revo sx. what do you think? any other recommendations? Quote
down4ttown Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Lew's TP. PM me and I can tell you where to get one for $166.00. If you can wait for ICAST, the new Chronarch is coming out which means the E series will be on clearance. That is a great reel as well. Quote
Capt.Bob Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 The TP is a nice reel and better for a lot of things,,,,,,BUT fur Flippin, Super Duty,,,,,as a big crankbait reel or a flippin reel I would grab my SD every time over my TP heck for flippin I would grab my Super Duty over my Team Gold's,,,,,,,,but that is what that reel was designed for and deep crankin, hence the name. I got mine for less than $100.00 new and shipped. They are sweet for heavy duty use!!! Quote
rowyourboat Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 are you guys talking about the Tournament Pro Speed Spool Casting Reel? also, what gear ratio? Quote
Capt.Bob Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 My Super Duty is on an older 7'6" BPS Extreme MH Musky rod, it pulls double duty as a crankbait rod for lures up to 5 oz. fo Musky and a heavy duty flippin rod for bass in heavy cover, I chose the 5.4:1 gear as Power is what I want and don't ever worry about speed, if I were only flipping and pitching for bass I would have went with the 6.4:1 gear ratio, as I think it is the most versatile all round gear ratio!!! and yes they are referring to the Tournament Pro Quote
OkeechobeeAngler Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Another vote for the Lews Super Duty. Quote
