Loop_Dad Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Isn't that what this site is for? Without having high school losers trying to "friend" me? That's what I thought too. I didn't like when they had a give away only on facebook. Quote

jeb2 Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Isn't that what this site is for? Without having high school losers trying to "friend" me? Well said. I hate doing anything on FB as I know they're just gathering data and selling it, even personally identifiable data. They're allowed to once you sign up and sign in, according to their user agreement. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 26, 2013 Author Super User Posted June 26, 2013 No Dyer, it is not like having high school losers "liking" the Forum on Facebook. It is for people who want to receive the articles and data when sent out. It is totally voluntary. We don't want you and Jeb to be losers. Tight Lines. Quote
that possum Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 I hate Facebook as well, but I still have one. I have only limit it to friends that I have hunting, fishing, and coonhounds with. As soon as I see posts from friends showing or telling pics about their kids (unless its hunting or fishing related), those people go into the cooler or get unfriended. If someone sends me a friend request that I know doesn't share my passions, I don't add them. They're not that good a friend anyway if they dont! If I post anything on Facebook, its fishin, huntin, coondogin or gun related. I'll join BR on Facebook cause it falls into one of my categories. Facebook is as simple or stupid as you make it 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted June 26, 2013 Super User Posted June 26, 2013 Don't have a Facebook or twitter account...yet. A lot of my friends have told me that once the kids start college they need an account. They tell me that's how the schools send out info to the students. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted June 26, 2013 Super User Posted June 26, 2013 Facebook is a good tool, it's all what you make of it. I keep in touch with family and friends, member of groups with topics that interest me. The majority of my sphere share my political and social sentiments, I group I'm in is 50/50, makes for some excellent debates. I do keep fishing forums, android forums, and tech forums separate from FB. The info coming in plus FB would be overwhelming to keep up with. Quote

I also have a FB account, but loath using it and only login to see what my clubs have been up to, etc. Seems a necessary evil these days these days, unfortunately. Quote

The only info I have on my FB is my name. I don't put my hometown, schools I've attended, and sure as hell who my employer is. I think I've got more info on the Bass Resource profile than my Facebook account. But anymore, if you order anything off the internet, there's no telling who has what kinda information off you. Quote
