Super User rockchalk06 Posted June 25, 2013 Author Super User Posted June 25, 2013 Rockchalk06 im in the same boat as you, i want both the 744 and 745 but can only afford 1, which one do i get?!?! ahhhhhh lol im really leaning 745 though If I go the Dobyns route, it will be the 745. I want that extra 1/2oz of max weight. I like a stiff rod for pitching jigs. Rarely with flipping jigs do I cast them. Quote

If you are using 1/2 oz or above regularly I would suggest 745. If you are using less than 1/2 and occassionally above 1/2 oz to 3/4, I'd probably go with the 744. iabass beat me to it! Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted July 1, 2013 Author Super User Posted July 1, 2013 Thanks for all the help guys. I really appreciate it. I'm dead set on a 745 now. Come on sales! Quote

Rarely with flipping jigs do I cast them. Different people have different ideas of what a stiff rod is but be cautious becuase I would not consider the 745 a stiff rod. It does have plenty of power but dont be fooled by the mag-heavy rating. Quote
