airborne_angler Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Ive been kicking around the idea of purchasing a tube of this stuff for awhile and have finally pulled the trigger. Can anyone give me first hand accounts of what to expect from this product VS Not using this stuff. Is it as good as they say? Testimonials please!! Anyone ever NOT satisfied with the product? And the reason? Is the Yamamoto craw version any better? Quote
zero Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 i did used for the first time last sunday and i do see a difference beetween using and not using it i was using brush hog and i only got bit like 4 times then i put megastrike on it i got over 30 bites incudling 5 keepers and that won me a tournament so i am really happy with megastrike product Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 29, 2010 Super User Posted June 29, 2010 You will be surprised and very pleased. Three specific comments: (1) fish hold a bait longer; (2) MegaStrike lubricates the lure/ bait and (3) this product is VERY user friendly! 8-) Quote
GonzoFishing Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 I recently started using it and it seems to help when the bite is tough. I love that it comes in a tube which makes it easy to apply and alot less messy! Quote
chromedog Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 I love it for the fact it masks any scents that may have been on my hands when I handle soft baits. Quote
Boogey Man Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Bobby needs to add a bluegill repelling ingredient. Little boogers kept biting the claws off my baby Rage Tail craw this past Sunday Seriously though, it is good stuff. Quote
airborne_angler Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 Ive decided to give Megastrike a try because JJ's is just too high maintenance. Gotta keep it cool, gotta make sure the stuff doesnt spill,I tried it and cant say I did any better with this stuff.Put the stuff in my storage and a few months later it had evaporated. 4 bottles of JJ's gone. Now I will keep JJ's in mind as some really swear by it,but I gotta give Megastrike a whirl first. A few years ago, Bobby was doing a giveaway of Cavitron Buzzbaits on here, I promised him I would pick up a tube of his fish attractant to try for him sending me the Buzzbait. Well Bobby,it took me a few years, but I finally got around to it. Quote
Big-O Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 I dont use it. :-/ Me either...I'm out ;D and need to get some more Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
MichBassMan Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I use it and am positive it works. Fish bite and hold on. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this; but I use it to lube all my knots, and when I apply it to any soft plastic bait, I always smear a little bit up a couple feet of my line so it's less prone to nicks and abrasions. Also help slide over wood and rocks. One place I don't put it on my soft plastics is at the top of the hook, it will cause your bait to slide off the hook more. I'm hard to satisfy, I don't buy into hype, but this is good stuff. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 30, 2010 Super User Posted June 30, 2010 Suggestions: 1. Keep it in a cool place like a cooler and in the house when no fishing. 2. Put it on ALL baits, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, crankbaits, plastics, jigs, etc. 3. Put it on ALL trailers and pigs. 4. Wipe excess from your fingers off on your pants as it washes out easily when you do laundry. 5. Consider dipping the tail end tip of plastics in JJs chartreuse or a color combo to make lime before putting on the MegaStrike. 6. Cast and have fun! Quote
Big-O Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I still dont use it :'( I still don't either : And when I'm not using it...I don't squirt a small amount into a re-sealable empty bait bag to massage my rigged baits into, avoiding getting it on my hands...when I'm not using it 8-) Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted June 30, 2010 Super User Posted June 30, 2010 I avoid this stuff as best I can..But, at least once a week or so..it mysteriously gets on any baits that aren't metal, or injected..jigs, soft swimbaits, anything that's soft plastic..Oh, and the huddelbugs seem to always have to much on them..Oh well, it keeps my baits soft and looking goood..Now, if I could find out how it gets on there.. ;D Quote

Dixon Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Big O you have coffee scent. I think that helps the fish bite. Never mixed mega with rage baits. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted June 30, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted June 30, 2010 HOLY COW!! I just realized why my coffee tasted so weird on the boat! Come to think of it, that's NOT clear jelly on my toast either! Oh man, I gotta stop drinking the night before I go fishin'. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted June 30, 2010 Super User Posted June 30, 2010 One of the very few scent products I've ever used that I can say makes a difference, the other being smelly jelly. The megastrike does cause them to hold on longer, it masks scents like sunscreen and it does trigger a few extra strikes. It's worth every penny and you only need a teeny bit on a lure. Quote
Super User CWB Posted July 1, 2010 Super User Posted July 1, 2010 I use it religiously, sometimes along with JJ's. It goes on every bait I throw. A couple years ago I saw a hawg just cruising the shallows and I would cast a senko in front of her and she would stop and take a look and mosey off. I decided to smear some megastrike on the bait and the second cast she stopped turned nose down and inhaled it. Last year I got ahold of some of the crawfish scented stuff that was intended for Japan and am guarding it with my life. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Love the smell of gooo in the morning-It just gets me pumped to go fishing Quote
