MichiganFishing1997 Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I have almost finished stripping my boat of all its old awful paint. Now I have to do a little bit of body work then I'm ready to send it in to gget painted. My biggest question is if my choice for the inside was a good idea. I wanted a textured paint so he suggested the truck bed coating paint thinned with some water. This will allow me to have a tough paint that goves me grip for when I'm fly fishing. Here are my concerns -will it hurt my gear -will it hurt my line -will it get too hot Also haven't decided on what color to paint the outside. I'm not a fan of red, but what colcolors do you think? MichiganFishing1997 Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 Lol. I need answers on the inside more than the outside. Please! Quote
aquaholic Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 what type of boat would help. I would think white would be the best color to keep cool. Quote

Super User slonezp Posted June 25, 2013 Super User Posted June 25, 2013 Black will be too hot, white will be cooler but may reflect the sun in your eyes, tan is a good compromise. 1 Quote
Super User Teal Posted June 25, 2013 Super User Posted June 25, 2013 Black will be too hot, white will be cooler but may reflect the sun in your eyes, tan is a good compromise. This. The thinned liner should be fine with you gear, but I've always been a fan of carpet and smooth surfaces. That's a personal preference. But I've heard of local guys doing the same thing. I haven't heard of any complaints abot damaging gear or line. just make sure not to do it in Black. Tan, beige, off-white are good choices. As for color, a white hull with colored top side is sexy to me. mine is white hull/ red top. Quote
MichiganFishing1997 Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 Okay thanks.. I'm just doing bench seats, not the whole boat carpeted. And I can't get the truck bed liner paint in any other color.. I guess il have to go another route. Quote
topwaterrob Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 I'm a carpet guy myself.... I like to take my shoes off alot of times while I fish. My buddy has the non-slip stuff youre considering. It cleans up nice, but hurts my feet.... Just my two cents Quote
