38 Super Fan Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I attended the first car show I'd been to in years today, Somernites Cruise in Somerset KY, this was their Corvette themed month, so I simply had to go to that. The show was awesome, and featured some real heavy hitters, multiple C6 ZR1s, and Z06s, split window 63s, big block C2s, more than I can post about right now. Last I heard, over 250 Vettes, and over 1,000 cars total, and I left pretty early, so I know those numbers grew even more. I'll post more pics tomorrow, but here's a few for now. Quote

aquaholic Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Yesterday i saw the new 2014 stingray at a gas station. The guy said it was 1 of only 4 on the road currently. I didnt like them when they first announced them but i would of gave my first born son for that car. The look of it is insane. Quote
38 Super Fan Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 I was pleased to see that C5 Z06s were well represented, I've got to get one of these, the bug has bit me BAD now. Quote
38 Super Fan Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 C6s were even better represented: Quote
38 Super Fan Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 C6 ZR1s too!! I was talking to the owner of the second one, and he said I missed an Orange ZR1 that was there earlier! Quote
Super User MCS Posted June 23, 2013 Super User Posted June 23, 2013 Cool pics, thanks for posting. Don't get to a lot of car shows, family doesn't "get it" Lol Love that 96 grand sport and the silver and red sting ray. How much was the silver 90's zr-1 style? Quote

That was a 96 collectors edition actually, not a ZR1 unfortunately. I think it had over 100k miles, and he still wanted like $15k. I didn't see a single C4 ZR1 in the whole show, and I was even keeping an eye out for one, I love the C4 ZR1! Quote

38 Super Fan Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 ] This little Cobra replica was a hot one, had a 383 in it, owner claimed over 500hp, and it sounded like it. Quote
aquaholic Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Nice! I still lose sleep over the rear end styling of the new C7. I was right there with you until i saw it in person. It works with the car, even though its breaking away from the past. I just wish the wouldnt have called it a stingray. And both emblems look extremely dumb to me. I saw you mention c4 zr1s. A couple years back a local dealer got one in that was in pretty rough shape. The owner didnt pay his repair bill and they took possession on it and only wanted 10k out of it. I dragged my feet and someone off ebay bought it sight unseen. I still think the lt5 is one of the most beautiful motors out there. and im still kicking myself over letting that slip through my fingers. Great pictures by the way! Quote

Glad you guys like the pics, I wish I'd have taken more, it was hot though, and I was moving through them pretty quick near the end. If I hit another show this year, I'll try and step it up. C4 ZR1s are still quite affordable, I've seen very nice ones in the $17K range, and they were low milage cars. If you ever do decide you want one, you may want to do a little research at a place like Corvette Forum, or ZR1 net registry because those cars did have some very common issues with Fuel Injectors, windshield delamination among others. The injectors are the big deal, they don't comply with modern ethanol fuel, and must be changed to aftermarket injectors, which is a pretty big job, and those LT5s had 16 fuel injectors too! The cars that have already had that work done are the ones to seek out. Quote
