hooah212002 Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 You know those times you want to go fishing but you know your wife will probably get mad because it's 2 in the morning and you are just getting off work and you told her you weren't going to stop off and go fishing? Tonight was one of those nights lol. It felt like a nighttime buzzbait kind of night, so I stopped off "just for a few casts" I thought. Yea right. That turned into 2.5 hours. It was worth it to get this guy as my first buzzbait fish and to get me out of my dink slump. I hate laying fish down, but I don't have a scale and I wanted a reference point for the size. Super User AK-Jax86 Posted June 21, 2013 Super User Posted June 21, 2013 That's a nice fat fish! I don't understand why more people don't have scales a nice digital one is only $20. I've had my rapala digital for a long time. Quote

I've had my rapala digital for a long time. I don't typically catch scale worthy fish and $20 is money better spent (most times) on other things. I'm not too concerned with the actual weight of this fish which is why I made no effort to make a claim as to what it weighs. I am building up my tackle arsenal and all my money is going towards that. I am sure I will get a scale sometime this summer, though. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted June 21, 2013 Super User Posted June 21, 2013 Nice fish man! Worth the stop and the ear full at home i bet! Quote

Yea way I see it is that a scale I won't lose so it's a pretty solid investment especially here in FL where your chances of catching a big fish are increased. That fish you caught classifies as a FL fish lol Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted June 21, 2013 Super User Posted June 21, 2013 Sweet catch. So you were fishing in wee hours of the night then? Quote

Super User BassinLou Posted June 21, 2013 Super User Posted June 21, 2013 That's awesome LOL. Hey, fisherman fish when ever we get the chance. In your case its 03:00. Great catch. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 22, 2013 Global Moderator Posted June 22, 2013 Me too. I really need to get a scale. Buy a soft measuring tape and get the length and girth and then you can at least get a ballpark guess with a fish weight calculator. Looks to me to be around 4.5 pounds. Quote
