When you buy a pack of new soft plastic's, How long do they last? I store mine in a closet specifically meant for just my fishing gear in the house. Do they go bad?

Dunno about a closet but I have had about 15 packs of soft plastics in my tackle box for 15 years and they are still good as new.

The guy that got me into fishing still has some bags of Berkley Powerbait when they first came out in the 80's. Don't know why he hasn't used them but they still feel good in hand.

I stopped bass fishing in 1990, and had lots of bags of rubber worms, that were years old back then.  This year I am

back bass fishing, and using the old worms.  Some of them still catch fish better than some of the new plastics.

I melted down a couple of hundred, and poured them into Senko style.  Seems they last forever to me.

As long as they are kept out of the sun and places with extreme heat they will last you for long...long ... time.

As long as the dont melt in the sun and arent flavored theyll last a couple of years. The flavors like on yum or powerbait can wear out and the material gets stale.

The only thing that lasts maybe a season is the pork baits. I threw them away when they changed color.
