Vinny Chase Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I am looking to spend around $100 on a new spinning reel to pair with my new *** rod. I have always been a shimano guy, but have heard some really great things about the Lexa and I had to throw the supreme in there because of the Pflueger name. What are you thoughts? Has anyone had experience with one or more of these reels?Side note, I did have a symetre about 3 years ago that I ended up selling...The only Shimano reel I have purchased and wasn't satisfied with, but it looks like they did a redesign since then. Super User J Francho Posted June 20, 2013 Super User Posted June 20, 2013 Add this to your list, been holding up well in it's 3rd season: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-DHC5-performa-review.html Quote
Diggy Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I was at dsg and handled the lexa and the symetre The lexa feels smooth and solid. The bail flipped over effortlessly with the handle. It made me consider buying one for inshore use. The symetre felt good but the lexa had a better overall feel that was noticeable The supreme looks good (havent handled one) I think it was 119, the symetre was 109 they give you 20 off with a used reel and you can add another 10 dollar coupon to it. Im sure itll much cheaper on the auction site tho(the stradic fj is 130 on there) They may have them in store in your area for you to test also, its not real world but it does help along side online reviews. Vinny Chase Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 Vinny Chase, American Fishing Legacy has the Symetre FJ on sale for 59.99, that help your decision? Thanks for pointing that out, but no because that is the one I previously owned and was not happy with. Quote
Vinny Chase Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 I am leaning towards my first Diawa and going with the Lexa! Thanks guys. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted June 21, 2013 Super User Posted June 21, 2013 I've fondled the lexa a couple of times, based only on that I was very impressed. I see nothing negative at all about this reel, I'd buy one in an eyeblink. Quote
MrSwimJig Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 The Lexa spinning reel looks nice and feels nice also. But I wouldnt overlook the Pinnacle Performa XT either. Pinnacle has come along ways. I have one of their Optimus LTE baitcast reels and have been very impressed with it so far. Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 i got the pflueger supreme mgx, but i cant really give an honest review of it. i mean it feels great and is real lightweight and smooth. i bought it earlier this year and just havent had much time to fish at all between being busy at work and swamped with stuff around the house. cant wait to get some reel significant time to use it, which should be in a couple weeks over 4th of july weekend.
