NEjitterbugger Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Is this possible and if so, any direction's? Quote
james 14 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Get a 70qt cooler and set it lengthwise if it'll fit. You'll also need an aerator if you plan on the fish not dying within an hour. Quote
derekxec Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 should check out youtube for making a livewell out of a cooler Quote

Super User OkobojiEagle Posted June 19, 2013 Super User Posted June 19, 2013 Keep the stability of your canoe in mind when you're planning this project. I'm not convinced an all day cooler ride is much easier on your catch than dragging them along over the gunnel on a stringer. oe Quote
martintheduck Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Get a 70qt cooler, add some kind of aquarium aerator to it, and you'll need a battery to power it. I looked into doing this on my yak, and it turned out to be too much crap to be worth it. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted June 20, 2013 Super User Posted June 20, 2013 My friend made a livewell out of a cooler using the following kit below. Seemed to work pretty well. http://keepfishalive.com/cooler-conversion-package.php Next time I am at the house I will take a pic of it. 1 Quote
james 14 Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Just get a cheap aerator from WM and add a little ice to keep the water cool and the fish will come out more alive than they went in. Did it for years like that. Quote

I just make it a habit of pouring a little bit of cool lake water to keep the water at stable temps. Quote
