Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted June 18, 2013 Super User Posted June 18, 2013 Anyone use these for targeting big largemouth? Any success? Just picked 1 up haven't had enough time to throw it yet Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 18, 2013 Global Moderator Posted June 18, 2013 I've fished them for bass before but never caught anything very big on them. Quote
The Young Gun Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Mepps catch every fish that swims... Love spinners Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I've never targeted bass with them but they do catch big bass while pike/musky fishing. They also catch dinks. LOL Quote
Super User bigbill Posted June 18, 2013 Super User Posted June 18, 2013 Example; I was using a mepps #3 Anglia dressed and catching fish after fish, smaller ones it was a frenzy. Then the bite just stopped suddenly. It was a blue bird day and nothing really changed. I had a gut feeling to up size my lure. I put on a #5 mepps spinner in the same color pattern and landed a 30" pickerel. This taught me when the frenzy stops the bigger fish come closer to see what all the fuss is about. But they won't strike the smaller lure. Keep an open mind and experiment while you fish too. I just had Terry Clark repaint some super top props for pike/Muslims in bass colors and they look awesome.
