Where are the best spots to walk a spook?  how deep of water can you successfully catch fish on a regular basis?  I am always afraid to throw a spook in water deeper then 5 feet, can i throw one in water deeper then that?  Is it usually best to throw them up into a point or out paralleling the drop-off?  How long will the top water bite be good, all summer, till the water gets really hot (80+)???

I love walking the dog, just don't do it much.  I just wanted to know when and where it is best to do it, so i can do it more!  Thanks!

I sometimes do it over 20 feet of water for suspending fish. Or when I see fish busting shad on the surface anywhere on a lake. I fish them anywhere I think bass are. I also use them all summer long.

I fish from the bank so I tend to throw it parallel with the shore which has paid off big time for me in certain lakes with spawning fish. Ill also throw it in open water areas at times around blowups and chased bait fish. If water is shallow I tend to try to cover all areas of it with a spook as long as I wont get hooked on vegetation. Lastly If the water is just a bit higher than the weeds, Ill try it to see if I can get a fish hiding in the grass.

I caught my PB the fish in my profile pic by skipping it under an overhang and then walk it out...

I like them best in low light, and on cloudy days, but they can still work in mid-day sun. They'll come up from much farther than 5 feet to grab one, so don't just throw them in super shallow water, like Scott posted, they'll work in deep water too with the right conditions.
