I had the privilege of fishing the Swim Bug as a

prototype. On a recent trip to Pickwick/ Kentucky

Lake with .ghoti, I caught several nice bass

including ~4lb smallmouth.

You are going to like this bait!

On the day RW described, the TVA shut off power generation, completely screwing up fishing on the river. It was a tough day, to say the least.

Kent and I both put fish in the boat using this new bait.

A better testimonial would be hard to imagine. I know I'll be adding some to my selection of plastics.

Cheers,

GK

.ghoti... what cover did you fish these baits in and what technique/manner?  If so, how do these baits differ from the crowd of creature baits in today's market?  Looking for a semi-unbiased critique.

Steve-I just wanted to jump in here for a minute- The reason I made this bait a little different was I wanted a lot of water displacement and action. The guys that I have shown and given this bait to like the way all six of the appendages move. The ribs also displace water which is good for dirty or muddy water applications. Here is what i was doing with it the other day.-Weightless on a 7 ft bait caster 4/o gammy offset worm hook. Throwing it over the grass and just steady reeling with the rod tip at 10 o'clock-It was just churning along the top and Bam they would hit it. I also-added some weight with the 1/8 oz shak-e and let it fall into the holes in the grass. It would just get heavy and I would set the hook. I have also used it a ton just flippn and pitchin. Its a good bait. There are times that a bass wants a subtle action and there are times they want an erratic action like the Rage products. I also find they want an in between action. Remember just about any bait will catch fish at one time or another.Oh and yes-i do like the RAGE products .

I made sure to put the USA Flag on top

Bobby,

I think that was a wise choice. I will not buy plastics unless they are made in america. Thank you for realizing that the USA flag is important to some of us.

It's nothing like Spike it.  This is a paste instead of a dippin dye.  Great product.  It's not the garlic scent.  Amino acid based, etc etc.

The bait looks good and I will buy a bag to try them out. Now the bag looks good to but why would it take 8 months to get them made. That is excesive.

Those look great, how do we get our hands on some?

Why wont bobby answer everyones questions about when these baits will be ready.  He posts stuff every week or so about these plastics or the wingding but never says when they will be ready.

They were suppose to be on TW like 6 months ago

Kent was fishing a T-rig. I had mine rigged on a jighead.

I was fishing fairly deep, popping it off the bottom, while Kent was fishing his quite a bit slower. Water clarity was in the 18" range; maybe a bit less.

These baits will move some water on the drop, if you use enough weight. I did not try one weightless. Following Speedy's advice, I was fishing between 15 and 25 feet deep.

As far as a comparison, I would say look at two other baits. The Zoom brush hog and a Rage Tail smokin rooster.

The brush hog has a very subtle action. Not a lot of movement from the appendages.

The rooster, or space monkey, have a lot of movement from their various limbs.

Bobby's new bait falls in between these two.

I tend to classify my plastics as either aggressive; ie. Rage Tail baits; or as subtle, ie. Zoom super fluke.

This new bait is right in the middle.

I make bait choices based on action more often than color. I think it helps to change baits based on action rather than color when looking for what will get bit on any given day. Color change is for fine tuning.

I tend to start aggressive, and then work my way down the scale towards no action. Bobby's new bait gives me another intermediate step in the search.
