basser223 Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 which of these do you catch most of you fish on? Quote
Shad_Master Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 This was a tough one - I voted "plastics" but jigs are definitely a close second with CB's right in there. Really have gotten a way from throwing spinner baits recently but it used to be my goto. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 14, 2010 Super User Posted June 14, 2010 Voted plastics. I only chose that because of how versatile they care. Flipped, pitched, t-rigged, c-rigged, etc etc. Cranks would be a very close second with jigs coming in third. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted June 14, 2010 Super User Posted June 14, 2010 Plus, different bait's, for different situations..Voted plastic.. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 If you were asking smallmouth only and crankbaits included jerkbaits and lipless baits as part of the catagory my vote would have changed. Plastics is a broad catagory too so it wins overall. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted June 14, 2010 Super User Posted June 14, 2010 Depends on the situation? So far this year most of my fish have been caught on jigs butt summer is usually all topwater and soft plastics. Allen Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted June 14, 2010 Super User Posted June 14, 2010 Guess? ;D Spinnerbaits are a close second Quote
gobig Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Please keep throwing your plastics. The less Jigs you guys use the better for me. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted June 15, 2010 Super User Posted June 15, 2010 Please keep throwing your plastics. The less Jigs you guys use the better for me. Sorry, I can't cast to nor cal... Quote
lsufan334 Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Please keep throwing your plastics. The less Jigs you guys use the better for me. Man speaks truth. Jigs all the way for me Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted June 16, 2010 Super User Posted June 16, 2010 its easy, whichever one you fish with the most! it was a very close call for me, between plastics and crankbaits. i went with plastics because i probably fish with them more. but without a doubt all my biggest fish come from crankbaits, i don't think i've caught a fish 4lbs or larger on plastics. RussBert Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Plastics, with the lowly Senko leading the way. It's what works here in my neck of the woods, so why fight it? 8-) Quote
B A S S E R Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 since I fish plastics 90% of the time thats what I catch most of my fish on. Quote
buzzcatcher Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Voted plastics. When I first started bass fishing I couldn't stand fishing that slow, but now after catching so much on plastics I'm starting to dislike the constant chunk and wind of cranks and spinners. Not to say I don't still throw them if conditions favor them. Buzz Quote
backwater4 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Voted plastics, but a jig comes a real, real close 2nd. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted June 23, 2010 Super User Posted June 23, 2010 I catch fish on all of the above, but probably 60% of my bass come on plastics. Plastics appeal to less active fish that might be smarter or holding right in cover, while drawing more strikes than jigs in many situations. However to be a good bass angler you need to know when and how to successfully use all four of these lures and other types. Quote
tritz18 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Also depends on the season, during fall time and early spring I catch all my fish on crankbaits but summertime its alot of plastics. I voted plastics because defiantly most used and most versatile Quote
BassDeaton01 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I voted plastics because I use them most. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted June 24, 2010 Super User Posted June 24, 2010 Last year it was jigs. I am still working on this year. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted June 24, 2010 Super User Posted June 24, 2010 This year it's been jigs as I made a vow to fish them more this season. But there is almost always a Chigger Craw hitching a ride on every jig I throw. A-Jay Quote
KC Bass Fanatic Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I guess I'm a nerd but I keep a log of all my fish for every lake on the tournament trail. The log includes (among other things) what each fish was caught on. In 2009 I caught 33% of my keeper LM on plastics, 30% on jigs, and 37% on everything else (spinnerbait, crankbait, frog, etc). We must both be nerds then ~ with so many lakes in my immediate area, I have found that having a record of dates, times, locations, baits, weather and water temps etc is very helpful . . .
