MIbassin Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Hey guys! Most of the ponds around here are shallow and as the season progresses they fill with snot grass( the slimey crap you can't keep off your hook) early in the season it's only on the bottom, but later on its everywhere! Do you guys have any tips for catching bass in this stuff? Quote
derekxec Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 weedless baits...doesnt really matter if they get some slime stuck on it just keep fishing it Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 16, 2013 Global Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 Frogs and weightless plastics are about the only options if the stuff is covering the entire surface. If there's open areas I like to run spinnerbait, buzzbaits, chatterbaits, or swimbaits along the edges of the stuff. Weightless senkos, flukes, and creature baits fished around the edges or cast into the holes. Quote
scrutch Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Bass don't like gorilla snot. Fish elsewhere. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted June 16, 2013 Super User Posted June 16, 2013 When I start pulling that stuff in, I move somewhere else. Quote
