Chance_Taker4 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I am looking for a suspending lure that has the same action as the Rapala Xrap Suspending that do not cost 7 and 8 bucks like the Xrap does. Does anyone know anyother brands that have immitated the Xrap and is selling them cheaper? Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted June 23, 2010 Super User Posted June 23, 2010 Nothing has the same action as an X - rap, you can't replace them. Quote
CRFisher Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 You won't find anything cheaper, not with similar performance. Most of the better jerk baits are even more pricey. I switched to braid fishing them from shore - a lot less snap offs from the snags. Quote
Blue Streak Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 When you are looking for something that specific, you will probably have to buy the original. I think the quality of the Rapala baits at that price make them the best bargain on the market. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 23, 2010 Super User Posted June 23, 2010 Excellent lure, great value! 8-) Quote
NateFollmer Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Nothing will replace the Xrap... I know they are expensive, but they are WELL worth every penny. I've started putting dressed trebles on some other jerks and cranks and they do seem to improve strikes a little. But they just don't have the same action! Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted June 23, 2010 Super User Posted June 23, 2010 Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and spend a little money. Quote
Chance_Taker4 Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 Ok thank you for all the advice I will just stick with buyin the xrap. I fish very clear waters what color should I look at? The original shad works in stained but it doesnt seem to in clear water. Quote

D4u2s0t Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 at 7-8 dollars, the x-rap IS the replacement for the more expensive baits, and is well worth the cost. Quote
NateFollmer Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I like the olive green and anything darker in color. I find that the white is too strong and usually doesn't get bit. Quote
Pikesnogle Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I think this is one of the most unanimous answers I have seen in a while.. I'd say I agree, x-raps are worth every penny. I haven't found anything better for the buck. Quote
Chance_Taker4 Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 Another piece of info that i put in my color selection is I have seen the bass chase and eat the bluegill in the pond but I see the shad just swim around the bass with no problem. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted June 23, 2010 Super User Posted June 23, 2010 In clear water just match the natural forage as close as you can. Quote
