Bassin30721 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 When I was fishing the other day I caught the biggest turtle I have ever seem and the worst thing is it broke my favorite rod. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted June 14, 2013 Super User Posted June 14, 2013 Sorry to hear about your mishap. Of course you know, you were the one who broke your rod....not the turtle. Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted June 14, 2013 Super User Posted June 14, 2013 One of the very reasons I pack heat when fishing ponds in BFE! Look at it this way. If the fish arnt biting, I still get to kill something lol Quote
jhoffman Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I think I about had one on a fluke the other week fishing some back waters. I was fishing said fluke on 12lb braid and when I set the hook I felt no pressure at all the bait was just gone. It also didnt look like a bass strike. Quote

When you set the hook and they really have it you about fall out of the boat as there is ZERO resistance. Also, LOL @ "pack heat" from rockchalk. Quote
jhoffman Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 it was in the juniata so i guess thats possible but there was no swirl Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 16, 2013 Global Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 I sight fished a very nice snapper on a Netbait B-bug Thursday. I was flipping water willows and thought I saw a monster bass pushing through the weeds. Turned out to be a very aggressive snapper that was all over my bait as soon as it hit bottom in front of him. Very disappointing fight, seemed he was as sluggish as the bass were. Made it easy to unhook him though. Quote
