Jim Mac Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I'm thinking of selling my outboard motor, and was wondering what the approximate value be. It's a 1990 Johnson 25 HP, manual start, short shaft, good condition. What would a fair asking price be? Thanks. Quote
james 14 Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 nada.com I had a long edit typed out that disappeared into cyber-space. I would guess 500-700 bucks from what I've seen but check nada. Don't worry about getting the exact model number as most prices will be similar for the same year and horsepower. If you take the time to clean every surface inside and out you could get another $100. Looks go a LONG way in selling a boat, motor or even a car. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 13, 2013 Super User Posted June 13, 2013 I see them for $400 to $800. Quote
Jim Mac Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 Thanks. What's the best way to clean motor? What type of cleaner? Quote
james 14 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 It really depends on what you're trying to clean and how severely dirty it may be. Just make sure it looks as good as it can without dirt and grease all over it. Quote
