My avatar is from there. Got her on a shaky head on the wooded side where there is a lay down going into the water. The "cove" on the far end has produced some good ones for me as well. Better wear bug spray over there though, lots of tics! Its been a while since i have fished there. The fishing has been good on Glenn Springs so I haven't hit any of the local ponds. Hope this helps! gr8outdoorz Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Really? I must be doing something wrong. Haha Hahahahaha! Man we have been catching a decent amount out there fishing the tops of mats with hollow body frogs & punching them with a 1 1/2 oz punch weight & Rage Lobsters. Find the mats that sound like rice krispy treats (snap -krackle-pop) sound & fish them. That sound is bluegill feeding on insect hatches under the mat sou you know bass are not far. That has been our pattern the last couple weeks. We caught a few cranking off some points but the vast majority have been from the mats. 1 Quote

We've caught some OK numbers, but also struck out. The other weekend we were there and most of the mats were gone. Look for the black Jon boat with blue and gray interior next time. Will be pulled by a big black 4dr jeep and red trailer. Come up and say hello. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted June 13, 2013 Super User Posted June 13, 2013 I caught my best bass so far this year on a NorthStar Original Swim Jig (bluegill)/ Rage Tail Shellcracker (green pumpkin, purple, gold). Last Saturday the big bass was caught on a Siebert Outdoors Swim Jig (black)/ Back hald of a purple GYCB Swimming Senko. More generally, soft plastics seem to be the best choice for most guys at Grove. 1 Quote

Jeff good deal, yea i wasnt able to go some things came up. is it still thick with the yucky stuff on the banks? i assume yes since you caught so many on a frog. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted June 17, 2013 Super User Posted June 17, 2013 Anywhere from 10-15' out from the bank in most places there is grass/weeds. Jeff Quote
Tim Cianciola Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 last time i was there a few weeks ago there was alot of what i call snot all over the water near the banks, made it much harder to get were i needed to be. had to try and punch through or use a frog. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted June 18, 2013 Super User Posted June 18, 2013 There was mostly grass. I did run into the snot in some places. I dislike it greatly and just move! Jeff 1 Quote

Super User 00 mod Posted July 16, 2013 Super User Posted July 16, 2013 Fran, Welcome to BR. Go to google maps and type this in: 35.102601,-89.753239 Jeff Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 17, 2013 Super User Posted July 17, 2013 To get there take Johnson Road one block north of Wolf River, immediately across from the soccer field behind Houston Middle School. Turn left. Follow the road approximately 4 blocks and make a left where you will see the parking lot. The pond is about 100 yards down the entrance path. -Kent Quote
