Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted June 11, 2013 Super User Posted June 11, 2013 I used to use these all the time and they work great! for some reason it doesn't retrieve like my old ones. It retrieves very erratic side to side... it does not spin!!!! At first I thought it was due to tieing it direct to the line.. then I tried snap any sugesstion for getting this bad boy spinning.. its a 3/8 oz with a treble.. maybe put a standard double hook on? Kinda like a frog hook but the hooks are closer together. Quote
Super User WRB Posted June 11, 2013 Super User Posted June 11, 2013 Daredevil spoons should not spin, it should wobble and give the appearance of s spin. When a spoon spins it will twist your line severely. The bass size is the 2/5 oz Imp. Tom Quote
The Young Gun Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 They're one of my favorite baits to fish. Always catch fish on spoons. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted June 11, 2013 Author Super User Posted June 11, 2013 Well I got the big spoon I've caught 1 fish in 4 casts... any way you to vary your retrieve? I've been throw it over deep weeds beds.. any thing else I'm missing? Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted June 11, 2013 Author Super User Posted June 11, 2013 I used to fish with them a the time and nailed bass at the resivoir I fished. Past few years I've been expanding my techniques to pretty much everything.. but when I remember I used a snap swivel which turns and does not twist your line on the retrieve. Quote

I personally favor spoons that wobble rather than spin, especially when trolling, I threw out all of my drone spoons for that very reason. I have had a lot success using Clark single hook saltwater spoons for bass in fresh water, like a j-spoon goes thru weeds pretty good. Quote
