x2 endurance rods are hard to beat at 170.00 but for 110.00 your practically stealing it.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMEN! Fantastic rod!

The technique dictates the rod which dictates the reel imho. If otherwise dictated, one must suit a rod compatible to the reel. I am not privy to said reel, but surely I would take advantage of the used market and any considerable sales to make the most out of what I had. A used cumara would be great.

Ebay listed "new" (I think they're last season's, but still haven't been used)  7' MH/M Quantum KVD composite rods for less than $100.  I think it's actually $107 w/ shipping, but still.

Powell Max or Endurance,  Kistler Helium( I just picked up a couple for 114, new), and if you want Quantum, I would get that 7 M Smoke....that's a nice rod.

if the rod is just for cranking i'd recommend something with a moderate action. personally, i feel st. croix makes some of the best moderate action rods on the market. before i upgraded, i had the mojo 7'mhm. aside from some guide issues i had with it, it was a fantastic crank bait rod and probably the only mojo rod i would recommend for shallow and mid depth cranks. deep divers i'd go a different direction.

I don't crank enough to need a cranking rod as a kayak/bank fisherman but the Wright & McGill Rick Clunn Reaction rods are on sale for $68.  Seems like an awesome deal from the comments.

The 724cb would be the rod if you're throwing cranks. 7'2mh mod/f

Can't go wrong with the Fish Ranger they have a great warranty themselves so you can't go wrong. I own 2 avids from Saint Croix and Powell Max plus an endurance. I always seem to gravitate to the Powells.

I would definitely get the CB rod for cranking. I have the 695cb and it does a great job with lipless cranks and squarebills. I don't really go beyond mid range divers just by personal preference. Both my Endurances balance GREAT with every reel I've put on them so they feel close to weightless when I'm fishing them.

As in, too heavy for fishing deep cranks?  Should I have gone with a M/M and not the MH/M?  Is it a good overall rod? I actually just bought one, but I have time to return it for a different one if this isn't a good option.

I think he meant heavy in weight, not action.
