shimmy Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 So in extremely windy days, my centrifugal braking system plastic pieces pop up. I usually keep two of them up but as i cast a lot into the wind the third and 4th one eventually pop up completing shortening my cast. Haven't had this issue with other centrifugal braking systems. Was curious what others have done to deal with it or what you would advise to do without affecting the casting distance. I just get tired of opening up the brakes and pushing the plastic brakes back down. It seems the springs are not strong enough to keep them down. Would it be bad to superglue two of them since i don't see myself ever using more than two? Any thoughts? Thanks Quote
TNBassin' Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Well, the Lew's uses the same type of braking system as the Revo S and the Revo STX, and I can tell you that I had an issue with my S' braking system doing the same exact thing. I would contact Lew's customer service and get it fixed. Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted June 11, 2013 Super User Posted June 11, 2013 Do as mentioned. I've never had any issues like that with the many Lews reels I use. Their customer service is awesome too. Quote
TNBassin' Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I'd like to see Abu adopt a version of Shimano's VBS, as it seems those weights hold up pretty well. Quote
