Sour grapes from a home-boy?

There are less than a dozen "NFL quality" quarterbacks in the league right now, the other twenty are just filler.

So use his best skills and play making ability in another position he isn't ever going to be in the top twelve, like ave Joe Flacco. Like speed said put him at FB

And lets not forget this is NE he is a QB until he isn't a QB, bill never shows his hand

As a tebow fan, he couldn't have went to a better place. Zero chance of a QB controversy, a coach who doesn't like to hear himself talk (Rex?) and keeps things in check. Could be some very interesting goal line and I formation packages. Don't see him as a TE, hes just not that fluid. Wouldn't want to meet him in a gap though.

Tebow played college football and won the Heisman and won two National Championships at...quarterback.

When he played for the Broncos at...you  guessed it... quarterback,  he led them to the playoffs.

He plays with his whole heart and throughout his entire career has been a winner.

Perhaps the wearing of his Christian faith on his sleeve for anyone to see is part of all the hating.

It's one thing for arm chair football experts to determine that he sucks and is not really a quarterback but, the prayer leader comment is very telling.

There is a big difference between winning a National Championship in the NCAA and being good in the NFL. He may have lead the Broncos to the playoffs, but he did so with a near 50% accuracy and one of the lower QB ratings in the league. There is no doubt that the guy is a true athlete and someone with tremendous character, but that does not make him a good QB.

I think Tebow is awesome....and I'm a Steelers fan.

Too many douchebags in the NFL with some talent. This guy has about as good a character as you will find ANYWHERE, let alone in professional sports. Throw in the fact that yes, he is talented, and I dont know what people's issues with him are.

I hope the best for him and honestly I think Belicheck is the one guy who can use Tebow's skills effectively. I hope he plays goal line fullback against the Jets both games this year and scores about 6 touchdowns.

I think he is awesome too. He has great character, and great athleticism/talent. The problem is that he is not a talented QB. All the great character and athleticism in the world will not make him a great QB if his accuracy doesn't improve (he's had enough time for this) and if he cannot read a defense.

I am with you on this one too.....many have said i would love him to marry my daughter but not quarterback my football team.

He had a good run there with Denver but really it was the defense that carried the team there.  Look at the run Sanchez had with the Jets when they had a stellar defese and a running game and now i doubt anyone would say man he got a raw deal and i want him on my team.

In no way am i exchanging Tebow with Sanchez....it was mrerely to point out that what appears to be a good QB is not always as a result of the QB play....if i remember correclty didn't the QB of the Ravens get cut the next season after their first super bowl or it may have been Tampa Bay....

Tebow is a great guy, and I kind of like him. But man, I've been completely sick of hearing about this guy for probably about 5 years.

What I see is a man in the spotlight without a blemish on his "character".

You're not going to read about Tim out gang banging at a strip club nor

arrested for DUI at 3:00 in the morning. He is a role model for our youth

and an inspiration to his fans. I wish we had more men likeTim Tebow,

George Brett, John Elway and Cal Ripken.

Lots of guys look up to Pacman Jones, Maurice Clarrett and Lawrence Phillips

.

Granted, they are the guys in the cells below them but still.....

The patriots are already pretty good in the red zone/ goal line situations so i doubt he will be there.  My thinikng is they use him to play scout team QB for practice and that is about it.  Nice kid but as an NFL QB he just isn't there.

And him at fullback?  He would get destroyed no matter how big he is.  He has not been trained how to take and deliver hits, especially with NFL linebackers.

As a long time Pats fan, I like the move.

I would say that whatever role the man is asked to do, he will give it his best.

Whether or not that ends up being productive in some way, remains to be seen.

I do not believe that he can or will hurt the teams chances of winning in any way.

If nothing else, when he's inserted into the line up in some capacity, I'm hoping it will become a bit of a big deal; ~ Especially if it puts more Pats games on my Big Screen.

The patriots have someone in their system who knows how to produce good QBs, a prime example is a no name college QB named Tom Brady to one of the best NFL qb's all time. Tebow is a Bellichek type player and was signed to be a QB. I think they work him all season and off season to completely retool his footwork and throwing mechanic. The man is a winner and that is a scary thing in the NFL, if he can get his throwing down then he can be unstoppable. Think of it as a low risk experiment that in my honest opinion will work. There is no question that the patriots system produces results at the QB position, the real question is will it work on tebow. Stay tuned folks!

Brady was hardly a no name college QB.  He won 20 of the 25 games he started.  Just didn't get drafted high...

I disagree. The traditional battering ram style fullback isn't that common today anyways. He was over 240 last year. He would be EXCELLENT lined up at fullback. Be it direct snaps, throwing, blocking, or even an effective decoy. No one knows what his hands are like , but i could see dump offs to him in the flat likely picking up alot of nifty 5 yard gains. I can't wait to see how belicheck uses him.

I agree it will be interesting to see how they use him but i seriously doubt he would be effective at fullback.  He is an ok runner for a QB but a lot of successful running QBs are more because of the surprise factor.  Things break down, they are mobile and can take advantage.  Vick is a way better runner than Tebow and you would never see him at running back.  When defenses are able to see you as a running back everything changes.

Also his footwork in the pocket leaves much to be desired so i am not to sure that he would be able to be successful as a FB but that may be his only shot because i don't see Brady coming out to run a few token plays.

He was brought in to help the defense practice against mobile QBs.

Ummm isn't throwing a pretty big part of being a QB?  I also cannot think of one other QB who was able to change their mechanics as much as Tebow is going to have to do and be successful.  I ma be wrong on this one but to be signed at the league minimum on a team with an established QB does not make me think being an NFL QB is in his future.

tom brady is a good QB but its because of his front line...they give him all the time in the world to throw but if you notice when he gets pressured he sucks especially the couple plays after he gets sacked

The problem Tim is having started when he entered the NFL and brought his religious values with him.

The media and fans were either for him or against him and the circus that was created was a joke and a distraction.

Tim is a running back. He is not an NFL quarterback. He likes to run the ball and he is very good at it. He can throw the ball OK but his power is in his running ability.

The NFL keeps a count on the number of hits a quarterback and other ball carriers take during their college and pro career and you know Tim has taken a lot of hits. Don't know how many he has left but I am sure his coaches know.

Will be interesting if he sticks with his new team and if he plays in any games. If he does, look for him to run up the middle if he can't find an open receiver.

Tritz, I think the coach's name is Cam Cameron. Add the Ravens QB to his list of successes.  He is now at LSU as their new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Let's see if Cam can do the same with LSU's Spitfire this year.

Looks like Tebow might open the season as NEs starting TE by default lol
