egolfer Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 The Warrior Jig'n Trailer is perfect on finesse jigs. It's keeps the jig compact and has great, subtle action in the water http://www.warriorbaits.com/soft%20plastic%20jign%20trailers.html Quote
JR Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I still use one of the "old time" baits. Gene Larew, was one of the first to offer smaller versions of the the craw patterns. In the late seventies and early eighties, not many fish had seen anything like the salt craws. It was great. His 2.75" salt craws were the standard for many years. I think they are still one of the best. http://www.genelarewlures.com/SaltCraws/25babycraw.html The small craws fished on six pound hybrid with a straight shank hook and an eighth ounce weight with clacker will still put fish in the boat. A little trick is to poke small holes in the claws and push bits of foam in them. The look of the little bait setting there with his little baby pinchers sticking up is more than most bass can stand. Primus Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I've done well fishing the 1/4 & 3/8 oz. Kietech Tungsten jigs or 3/16 or 5/16 oz. Booyah Baby Boo jigs with a 2-3/4" Yum Craw Papi as the trailer, I cut off about 3/16" off the trailer to make it more compact. Kietech also makes a cool little football jig that I drag & shake, puts fish in the boat when they are deep and the fishing is tough. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 17, 2010 Super User Posted June 17, 2010 Fish the Rage Tail Baby Craw naked: T-rigged,2/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook, 1/8 oz bullet weight, #6 original Hybrid or your favorite fluorocarbon. 8-) Makes a fantastic flippin bait also. 1/8oz pegged tungsten with a 5/0 octopus hook almost guarantee's you're hooking something.
