Super User clayton86 Posted June 10, 2013 Super User Posted June 10, 2013 Any good public fishing in the area I see its some what close to Onieda and Delta lake. Ill be there for 16 days in July figured might as well do some fishing well I'm out there. Quote
Northernangler Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Delta Lake is a very good fishery. There is an abundance of big smallmouth and big largemouth. It is public but you have to pay to enter the park but your bank fishing oppurtunities are few. Do you have a boat? Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 12, 2013 Author Super User Posted June 12, 2013 I might bring my kayak idk yet. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 12, 2013 Super User Posted June 12, 2013 Plenty of kayak fishing around Oneida Shores park. Some shore and wade spots as well. Quote
Northernangler Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 If you want to hit up Marion Manner on oneida lake is a great place for a kayak. Depening on the wind though. If you launch at A OK campground on Delta puts you closer to the backsets of Delta. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 12, 2013 Super User Posted June 12, 2013 Three Rivers in Phoenix is another spot You could launch the yak. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 12, 2013 Author Super User Posted June 12, 2013 It will depends a lot on what and where I'm stayin and how long I'm working. The 3 other guys going with me are also big into fishing the one has a brand new ranger boat so were spinning some wheels waiting to see what exactly is going on for the 16 days. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted July 11, 2013 Author Super User Posted July 11, 2013 So I'm here I have TONS of time off I didn't bring the yak but I may run the 6hr round trip to go get it and the rest of my gear. I did bring 1 pole and some basic stuff for now. I'm gonna explore on one of my days off try and find some fish already seen some good looking spots in the area. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 16, 2013 Author Super User Posted August 16, 2013 Headed back to delta for 4 weeks Saturday packing all my gear plus the kayak leaving it chained and locked to my truck bed when not fishing. Definitely hitting up delta a bunch is there anywhere to launch for free or do I have to pay 7 each time at the park? Quote
Northernangler Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Well somepeople will launch kayaks on the backsets. If you stay north on 46 and pass the state park take your next left and you will see where people launch canoes and kayaks. Not sure if its legal or not but I know people do it. But if you go into the town of western and park at the mohawk river you can launch there and make your way into delta. Quote

I should be here till September 15 this time hoping this mission doesn't get cut short like the last one it shouldn't its more organized this time. So if you see a yellow kayak hanging out of a blue ford ranger with a smashed up front end cruising around that's me. I want to find a good bow shop in the area also have them look over my bow by the time I get back home and completely off orders it will be bow season. Quote
