I would be shocked if something at least over 5 doesn't make it into someones boat, largemouth or smallmouth  :eyebrows:

Well guys, Mr_Scrogg has been putting in some legwork and some of the great sponsors from the site are pulling through for us. Right now we have at least a couple freebies to give away. It may not be the everybody gets something deal like last time but everyone will at least have a shot at winning something. Can't complain about having a chance to win some prizes in a free tournament now can we?  :respect-059:

I can fish plenty of cold water baits. Just not a jerkbait. Not yet anyway. I'm working on that...

I hope you do, somebody needs to knock Curt and Peter off the top of the mountain!

I tried real hard last time. A guy would think when he's culling 17 1/4 inch smallmouth off his card at Melvern he'd be golden. Nicole got us a kicker, I just didn't do my part and get a big one  :Idontknow:  We'll have some piggies caught at this deal though, hopefully somebody will beat their PB out there. I might have lost what would have been my PB smallmouth out there Thursday but I'll never know what it weighed, just know she was big enough I thought she was a carp.... :cry3:

Peter is three for three, I say we rename it from a tournament to fishing with Peter

BTW, this is a new lake that me or Peter have never fished yet.

It'll suit you just fine I think since you like to drag a jig so much, plus it doesn't usually have much of a crankbait bite either. AND no razor clams!!  :respect-059:

well i say we have a pic of fish on the scale anything over 3lbs if its going on a card and we will just assume that the scales right and zeroed ojut right thats just what i think and every one should have a scale and a board at the least a pic of the fish on a board

I think thats what Clayton is thinking. Except have everyone test their scales on a standard weight and then be log any difference for reference.

They'll eat them, it's just usually the bigger fish seem to fall for jigs or senkos. Chris caught his biggest fish of the day on a deep crank when we were out there. I haven't ever tried deep cranks out there much so may be something more to it. Never fished it in the fall either which is obviously usually a better crankbait bite then.

I like crankbaits, but I like jigs too so I should be ok.

Took the wife to Wabaunsee yesterday to enjoy the weather and hopefully some nice fish.  We ended with around 30 bass.  Like Bluebasser said, most came on jigs.  The ned rig was very popular with small bass and bluegill though.  We didn't catch any huge fish but we caught our share of decent ones.  The two biggest were a 3.61lb 19" smallmouth and 2.87lb 18" largemouth.  I had my heart broken twice though.  First was a drum that looked to be about 3 pounds.  Next was 5.11lb flathead.  That was my first flathead so I wasn't too upset about that.
