So I am working from home today and I look out and the lake is like glass temp is perfect I think to myself I will go out and hit my spots then go back will fish for a hour or so then start work.  We got one of those deals on a 16 feet mirror craft that people dream about (our nice boat is on another lake) and it just needs a connector for the fule line but I think to myself the 55 pound trolling motor can push it around fine and get me back (brand new) so down I go...I take a battery that I think is charged...(says it is) and I head to a island and fish and no bites at all..hmmm...so I head to the end of the lake and fish some points that produce bass nothing...I then go to the area where the lake feeds out into the river and I get a bass...but the boat runs aground and this causes the trolling motor to fall off the back of the boat...I drop my fishing rod I'm using to push us off..(cause of course I have no paddle)and run back grab the trolling motor before it goes all the way under ..a min later I think to myself I just dropped my pole in the water...oh well I can't find it and keep going...about 15 yards later I see it got hooked on some rope out the back and is being pulled behind the boat so I bring it in...I then head to some rocks not to far away that produce big fish and nothing...i go to a 2nd set of rocks and get a few fish and get the 1st nice bass of the trip...I then say to myself I will go fish the island again and then head in...(Island is 1/2 way home from rocks they are at the end)...when I get there I think to myself this battery seems to have trouble I don't know if I can make it back...so I start to make it back ...I get about 30 yards from shore and 10 docks down and the new trolling motors stops working...great.....so I hook up the older bow mounted one and it works...it pushes us along..(we are moving just not fast) so I say I will throw a KVD 1.5 while we move in...so I do and hook a nice bass..I get him in and he shakes and puts a hook in my thumb..(some blood not to bad) great I get him off....I then was able to get the boat close enough before it dies to grab the dock and pull it in....I hook the battery up on the chager and it says "0" ....but I did get 6 bass and 2 pretty decent ones

Sorry I posted this in the wrong forum the 1st time (didn't mean to)..You are right should have taken the paddle I left it in a cousins truck and figured what can happen we always make it back....that fish was decent for here I guess he made it worth it..(other one was same size)...the fish seem to be moving I have got more fish around boat docks the last week then anytime I can remeber it is clear most of the fish have dropped the eggs now and are a touch thinner then before...as crazy as it sounds I'm going to go back out this evening I think with another battery..

Could have been worse.  You could have gotten skunked after going through all that.  Nice fish!
