I want to order a ton of northstar or what not custom jigs but what exactly makes them different then let say strike King or booyah jigs? Plus this year I have really got into jig fishing and since I fish on a rocky bottom my jig heads are chipping their paint off. Do I color them back in to just leave it like a badge of honor?

Both NorthStar and Seibert Jigs are hand tied and are built with premium components.

Although the finish on both brands is "state of the art", they will still chip. The easy

solution is touching them up with nail polish. I have a number of colors that are always

on sale at the Dollar Store or other discounters.

The differences are; premium hooks, optimized balance, weedguards designed for the jig head style.

Any powered coated jig head will chip, the paint is harder then the lead. If the jig lasts long enough to get banged up, don't bother touching it up, bass could care less.

I would also check out TW and get a couple of Don Iovino's Nu jigs with hand tied skirts. Buy a few from different North Star and Siebert, fish them, then stock up on what works for you.

Siebert jigs come wire tied or with a rattle band. If you want rattles just purchase them separately and add them to the rattle band. Custom hand tied jigs for 2.50 a pop are an absolute steal!

Most of the difference is in quality of parts used. Mainly the hook, skirt thickness, and paint.  You also have where it is manufactured.  Most major store bought brand jigs are imported.  Almost all of the custom guys like myself or Northstar are made here in the USA by guys that like to fish.  I started out making jigs because I became frustrated with the subpar products coming off the shelf.

Custom isn't always more expensive.  If you look at my Big O jig at 3.50 each which is .50-1.50 less then many store premium brands.  Honestly it is a better jig with better components.

I don't think siebert outdoors sells jigs with rattles

I do make jigs with a rattle band and sell rattles as an accessory.   I'll even install them if you ask. :)

I hate spending 4+$ on imported jigs that I don't care for, siebert outdoors has sales often and I bought a bunch of Big O jigs for 3$ each and the brush head is my favorite head ever.

Main difference is quality. North Stars are all hand tied. Care is taken to ensure tr skirt is even and looks good. Better quality and harder paint. More color options etc.

How do I go about asking you to put the rattles on?

When you place the order, you select either wire tie or rattle band as your jig choice.
