Anyone using these to create your own video library of your catches?   Thinking about trying one out for topwater stuff since I enjoy that so much and it's that time of year but I don't know much about them?   Do you have any you've used?  Like?  Dislike?    Let me hear from you on this.   Thanks!

I bought a Drift Ghost HD a few weeks ago just for fishing and love it. I also got the shoulder mount with it. I had it narrowed down to the Drift and the GoPro Black edition. The two major things that made me lean towards the Drift were battery life, I can get 3 hours with the drift and my friend that has the go pro struggles to get half that. The biggest feature I like most is the looping video mode, turn it on and when I catch a fish just hit a record button on the supplied remote. It records two minutes back from when you hit record current two minutes and two minutes in future for a total of 6 minutes, time can be adjusted. It saves a lot of space on the memory card. I was using it this morning I'll try to post the video xo you can get an idea of what the video quality looks like.

Here's some video from the Drift HD Ghost, was just messing around with the camera at a little pond close to my house.

Nice, that looks great.   Movement didn't make me dizzy which is what I was worried about particularly top water fishing with it mounted on my hat, shoulder, or something.   Thanks for the info.   Will be checking that make/model out for sure.

No problem I can already see it's going to get addictive. Oh yeah just a heads up if you do decide to get one of these I would buy direct from Drift. Not sure if they still have this going on still but when i purchased mine if you signed up for the Drift newsletter you got free shipping and accessories. I got a spare battery and the shoulder mount for free when i ordered mine. Just thought I would mention that, every little bit helps.

Nice!   Yep, that sweetens the deal significantly.  Love the battery comment you made too; that was on my mind big time; battery life is key when on the water all day.

Kodak playsport. Unbelievable and endurable. Going on my 4th year with mine. The batteries last an hour and a half and are less than 2 dollars a piece. Not bad for an HD 720. I fish with guys using the Go Pro but the casing on the go pro make the sound terrible. The kodak is waterproof an the sound is much better than the go pro on rainy or overcast days. The whole setup is cheaper and has lasted 4 years for me. I just drill a whole in any hat and mount one on there. The batteries usually develop friction and the camera has difficulty reading it after 10 months or so, so i just get new batteries. Great set up, cheap, and is a better option than the go pro on overcast days. Now, on sunny days, the go pro is just better all around without the casing. ten cents.

Dont get a hat mount they are god awful and the videos always suck.Stick with a shoulder mount or chest rig. The go pros can be used with a backup battery and have a huge camera angle. Also the black edition has bluetooth so you can set it on a rock/tree and see what it sees and record urself without a camera man. Food for thought.
