Black and bluc, pb&j, and green pumpkin will cover the vast majority of situations for me.  green pumpkin in fairly clear water, pb&j as it is getting a littly murky, and Black and blue when the visibility is low.  if the water is real mud then ill go to a black and chartreuse.

Cyclone Slippin' Jig with a 3ought hook and a paca craw to match. Ussually I pick my color based on time of year and water clarity.

Texas Rig Jig is one of my biggest secret baits; it's an absolute killer  :(

You know Catt it is a secrete of many anglers and really I can't see why. It is an extremely effective rig that is much more weedless than a standard jig and with a base color like black for the skirt the trailer options are limitless. I duno about you but I like to peg mine with one of those rubber tooth pick thingies. I first saw a slippin jig on an infisherman show about 5 years ago and have enjoyed them ever since!

Peter back in the early 70s we would stuff a bullet sinker into a shirt talk about fun you should try that some time; this was called a Texas Rigged Jig. The original was called Big Red's Flying Jig make by some dude in the Shreveport area; I still got a few. My favorite color is called Bream Flashes which is Black Neon/Brown/Amber with a 5 Gene Larew Salty Craw Worm in Black Neon. I however do not peg any weight ever, just a personal thing. I hear talk about the best grass jig, they don't come any better a Texas Rigged Jig. I've fished them with Craw Worms, Worms, Baby Brush Hogs, you name it and it will work.

Without a doubt black and blue is my favorite color.

With that being said i am curious as to why that color is so productive...honestly I could never figure it out.  I thought that more natural colors would be the best?  I know people say that in clear water the natural colors will out catch the darker ones, however I still seem to do better with the darn black and blue no matter what water clarity I am fishing.  Does anyone have an answer as to why black and blue is such a popular color?     :-/

I think that it imitates the common color of a crayfish when they are molting? When they molt they are easier to catch and their body is softer so the bass prefer them? ( This is what I saw on a In-Fishermen show)
