Well you always hear about pattern's when it comes to fishing for bass. How about for fishing for Northern Pike? (Rhetorical Question)

Heres a new pattern I've discovered to catch 0 Bass, but hook (not land) astronomical numbers of Pike.

1.) Start the day jolly with a smile on your face.

2.) Walk to your favorite shore fishing spot.

3.) Tie on a Wiggle Wart without a leader, cuz you're fishing for bass anyway

4.) Hook a monsterous pike, fight it until it's within arms reach.

5.) Pike bites through un-leadered line

6.) Loose wiggle wart :cry3:

Being the intelligent creatures we humans are, we learn from this. So I tie on a steel leader wire for Wiggle Wart #2 just to be safe.

Repeat steps 1-4

New step 5.) Pike bites line past leader wire, once again stealing wiggle wart. :cry4:

For the record I've caught bass on this lake numerous times with Wiggle Wart color 108 (Chrome with orange top).

So, again being an intelligent homosapien I learned from this experience.

I made a longer leader and tied on a 5 of diamonds spoon, then:

Catch a bass

 :lolk:

Has a toothy creature ever invaded anyone elses personal space like me today?

Try fishin where there aren't any pike.

Then he won't be doing much fishing. If you are bass fishing up north, you are bound to catch pike. It's inevitable.

If it was a Pre-Rapala Wart, that's an EXPENSIVE trip. :cry4:

Hammer handle pike are the worst. Last year I marshaled the elite event on the Mississippi and guys were going through pike left and right and not getting their frogs back. I thought it was funny seeing the southern guys on the tour cuss them out.

Worse case scenario is another tw order so it isn't the worst thing in the world. Unless its an old wigglewart, Bagley, megabass, or lucky craft.

Muskie.  I don't know how many times they have bitten the skirt off of a jig, or spinnerbait.  Sometimes I wonder if they know what they're doing.

Sorry for your pain, but funny story.  I like catching pike so to me you are in a win win situation, but that's just me.

Happens to me all the time with my manns -1 cranks pike magnets. I hate catching pike, two of my kayak fishing buddy's love fishing for them though but the one is starting to see my hatred for them as they have destroyed some of his lures as well.
