KVD. I only buy Rapalas when they are on sale. Over priced IMO.

They're 2 completely different things. KVD cranks are shallow square bills made of plastic. Most Rapala cranks, (DT line) are standard round bill cranks, offered in depths from shallow to deep and are made of balsa. Both are good baits and have their place but are apples and oranges.

Are we talking about square bills or Strike King baits in general? I hear KVD baits and I think square bills.

The KVD 1.5 is great for fishing shallow points, especially if rock or wood is on them, I like those on shallow points as the 1.5 and the 2.5 dive deeper than a lot of square bills, they run a little better than 4' deep. For stump flats and around rip rap I like the Rapala DT Fat 3 and in colder water or high pressure situations, the Rapala DT Flat 3, both of those are killers as they deflect off cover really well and the Fat really displaces a lot of water. I really can't say one is better because to me they are 2 different tools for different jobs but both are great.

My main lure are KVD 2.5 squarebills, Sexy Shad and Black Back Chartreuse (caught my PB small mouth on it today actually 8lbs 3oz)

That's a pretty big SM for Ontario, a little over a pound shy of the record . Was that caught in Petawawa?

I really like rapalas dt3s for shallow rock. Anything over that though i prefer kvds and/or lc.

Anything SK over Rapala. Especially the KVD squarebills over the over-priced, uber fragile balsa turds.........aka the DT3

How dare you!!!! Actually i agree they are WAY over priced but dicks has hem on sale a lot for 4.50 and less a lot. I wouldnt pay 9-12$ for a dt crank.

I actually still have two DT3 cranks, both with the bills broken off, and on my boat key chain to remind to never to buy a Rapala branded product again.  I like Storm and VMC products that are under there "umbrella", and still buy and use quite a bit of stuff from both. But NOT Rapala.

KVD square bills, just about anything SK.  And when not using those I like the Mann's Baby 1 Minus.  Lots of wobble.

Yep, in the Ottawa river. It was an "incidental" hook up fishing for.... walleye.

Pretty big for Ontario? Man I catch 5-6lbers here all day.

Yes, "pretty big" for Ontario (anywhere for that matter). As I said, not far off of the Ontario record of 9.84 lbs.

Well ya, I know she was a big one, but I didn't know it was that close to the record. I catch about 5-6 smallies around 7-8 1/2lbs every year where the mouth of the Petawawa River meets the Ottawa river.
