Jacob, will PM you later today. Probably this evening.

In the meantime there are a number of tournaments on One Fish Anna that you can consider fishing. Those guys are the real One Fish Anna pros.

Be sure to have your current license and Safe Boaters Course card with you at all times in case the VDG&IF conservation officers decide to visit some of the ramps.

Where are you going to be on the lake?

Big boat - Small boat?

This will help us with our input.

I'm assuming you are targeting bass so this has to do with the greenfish.   Summer fish will primarily be in one of three places there I've found.

  1. Under boat docks, these fish are 'resident' fish and live there year round.  Skip a senko back up up under there and let it soak if it's slow or a swim bait if they'll chase a little.
  2. Offshore grass; have to hunt for this but it can be the motherload if/when you find it.   Topwater over it, frogs through it, swim jigs in it, etc
  3. Offshore structure; humps/points.  Football head jig, Carolina Rig, Dart Heads, Shakey Heads, Drop Shot will get you bit all day there.  Deep cranking has been more of a miss for me than a hit due to lack of current.

There are tons of fish and good ones in there.  Don't miss the early topwater bite too.  Spooks and Spook Jr.s in "bone" are great there and the stripers like em too.   Have fun.

X2

When Chuck said to let the bait soak, do exactly that, take your time, look for boat docks that have some deep structure close by, or some interesting structure changes,  The changes in her off shore grass has long since gone by the wayside, but there are still some areas that hold good grass in 20 foot depths and less, look around at the splits too, as chuck stated, points are a huge key to fishing Anna especially this time of year and should get you some quality fish right about now.

I am hoping to get to her next weekend and get back in the game a little more, hope to see you there sometime !!

Good luck and be safe !!!
