Any opinions about this seris of rods? In years past, I used a lot of Fenwicks particulaly the HMG and was satisfied but have not owned a Fenwick for several years. Considering a casting rod for Texas rigging worms and lizzards in moderate cover. Also looking at a Dobyns Champion for the same application. Also, would a MH action rod up to 3/4 oz. be suitable? I have been using Heavy action up to 1oz . but would like to go a little lighter if practical.

Big fan of the HMG and Eagle GT. No experience with the Aetos

I have the 7'6" H/XF, I use it for Carolina rigs and will use it for jigs - flipping.  The rod is pretty sensitive and really like how it feels in my hand.  I haven't caught a fish on it yet.  I've used it 2 times so far this year as the summer progresses I imagine I'll be using it more.  It is a pleasure to fish with, I would recommend buying the line you won't be disappointed.  Before I purchased this rod, I was testing it against a Cumara and Legend Tournament.  For 120 less, the rod felt just as comparable in store.  The Cumara H 7'4 felt crisper and lighter though, but the Aetos balanced fine with a Curado 200B on it.  I paid 139 before tax, it is well made too and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

*** was impressed with their review too.

I got a 7'4" med action Aetos rod this spring.  It has become my primary square bill rod.  I like it.  I don't think that I am throwing that much farther with the new rod, but throwing similar distances to what I was getting with my older rod (7'4" med action BPS Extreme) is just easier.   Hard to explain, but I like it more,
