Myself and Rhino had one of the best days fishing this past Saturday at a small honey hole on Cape Cod. The pond is approximately 200 acres with an average depth of 7 feet and max is less than 10.  We were on the water by 5:45 under cloudy skies and heavy mist. Water temps were at 64 up from 68 on Thursday. The weather varied from howling winds, light rain, heavy mist, fog, partly cloudy, partly suuny, ect.

I started throwing a blk/blu Boag Hog jig with a Paca Chunk trailer. Within 20 casts I had 6 quality fish in the boat. Rhino started slow (about 10 minutes, lol) then switched to Shaky Head with a four inch SK finesse worm in the coppertreuse color and started filling the boat as well.

Over the next 9 hours we caught 100+ LMB's with almost all of them 2 to 4+lbs. We were pulling them from tight to shore under the overhanging cover and just outside or through the partially emerged pads. I also caught many on a Fat Albert curly tail grub watermellon with red flake on a 1/8oz round jig head painted by yours truly. One my best days fishing ...... ever. Had a blast but a little sore the next day from the endless stream of fish being caught. Also got to see a pair of Bald Eagles. Days like this make it worth those tough days when you work your butt off and only catch a few fish. This will be a day to remember.

Shhhhhhhh, don't tell anybody, but they are still biting.  Not like they were on Saturday, but the same sizewise.  After starting the day at M/W which yielded only two fish on the two bites I got in over three hours of fishing, I loaded up and moseyed back to the honey hole.  Had to park on the road because of the sticker required to park at the launch between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Remember the water temp on Saturday was 64 versus the 68 it had been only two days earlier.  Now, six days later, I saw temps over 74 degrees at the end near the herring run.

I suspect part of the problem at MW is that the pond(s) is/are loaded with herring and alewives.  Saw them everywhere I went.  Vegetation is also very scarce, even in the northern section by the island near the cranberry bog.  I liked the weather better last Saturday.  Today, not a cloud in the sky, a mirror surface on the water, and after loading up and heading home, the outside temps were showing 90+ degrees on the Cape.
