floridabassman Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 What do you think about fishing in the rain? What are the best lures and techniques for fishing in a heavy downpore? Quote
CountBassula Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 TOP!!! WATER!!! Throw a hollow body frog around and under trees and/or close to shore. Or walk a spook like a dog :-) Quote

Christian M Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Black & blue chatterbait. Caught my PB around 2am in the rain throwing a black & blue Booyah Chatterbait. Quote
fstr385 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I like using this top water spinner. Has props on the front and back and makes a bunch of noise. Not a good fish in this pic, but the only one I have with the lure... Quote
Downeaster2010 Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I think fishing in the rain is more productive than at any other time. Although we may not like it, the fish seem to. Years ago, following the remants of a hurricane, it was pouring buckets, my fishing partner and I were 40 miles from home. There was some wind, but mostly downpour. He says we are here lets go out. We did, and we caught 30 to 40 bass in 1 hour, on pig and jigs. Most fish were in the 5 lb class. All were largemouth. It was the best fishing day I ever had. You could throw the jig out any direction and have a hook up in a couple of seconds. That day is going to be hard to forget. Quote
