There is a lot of good braid out there; power pro, suffix 832, etc. I use power pro and have never had issues. However I've used spider wire and my opinion on that back when I used it is that it's not a durable line in the long run. It flattened out and frayed and eventually would just break.

I've had the same spool of power pro on for 2 years and its still as good as when I first put it on.

As Bass Menace already pointed out there are plenty of good braids being sold now. My current favorite is Power Pro Super 8 Slick. Although I've not tried Sufix 832 I'm sure it's a good braid as well. I have fished Sufix Performance Braid and I know it to be a quality line. Regular Power Pro is good as well as P-Line braid.

My favorite braid Daiwa Samurai braid. Little expensive but very very good line. I also like SeaGuar Kanzen and Power Pro Super 8 Slick.

I would go Power Pro regular or slick.  At first I was an advocate of Spiderwire Stealth, but I found this season the braid is starting to fray on 3 of my reels.  The ones with PP is still going strong from last season.  I'm going to have to change it out this season, I also found that I am backlashing this season with the ones with Spiderwire, it looks like they do not age well.  The ones I have PP on are working flawlessly.  So Power Pro will be my main line from now on.  I usually get 30 or 50 lb braid.

Been using fireline for awhile and it works well, trying nanafill and loving it so far and I think I may stick with it.

X nanofill didn't see the BC being mentioned.  But I do like fireline..

Logan,

Sunline FX2.  It does make a little noise, but I enjoy a little string music myself, and I would have to say that my top pick for rigging would be 65lb Blue/Green.  There is no tougher braid out there.  I have never broke off with the Sunline FX2.. Ever.  I think you could pull a stump out of the river channel in 15ft of water with it.  Goood stuff.

I have tried numerous and none have dethroned PowerPro for me.  I have the new Seaguar Kaizen braid but haven't spooled it on yet.

I wish you better luck than I had with that line. It did work fine seemed to be holding its color, smooth, quiet but my 15# was very weak so now its in its package hanging on my pegboard.

I have four different brands on four different rods right now, and could get by with any one of them.

Which four brands?

My first braid was Sufix Performance in 40#.  Same line is still on my STX 4 years later.  I have Samurai 55# on another reel.  Doesn't see much use in this area, but I like it the little I have used it.  Fireline flaked pretty bad spooling it on.  Turned my finger and thumb a nice dark green where I was holding it for tension as it was spooled on.  Seemed stiffer than the other 4 braids I have used, but it probably will break in with some use.  Don't think I will try any more of it tho.

I've used my brother-in-law's spinning gear a few times when visiting (before I bought my own rods and left them there), and he uses nothing but the older PowerPro.  I never had a problem with it, and he has he has never lost a lure with it yet.

Personally I will stock with Performance, 832 or Samurai depending on how much spending money I have at the time.  :teeth:

Fireline (the round braid)

PowerPro

Tuf-Line

Spiderwire InvisaBraid

Thanks. I'm still undecided on braided line.

Now the big question (since I'm from Mass.): Are you a Yankee or Mets fan?

Sabres fan.

A+

You don't need to ask whether or not I'm a B's fan (), but good luck anyway!

You can go from 12$ power pro to 30$ plus braid. It's all braid, there's a different answer for everyone. If your on a budget get power pro of 832 and you won't have any problems. If you want some of the best, get Kanzen or samurai. This is like a ford vs Chevy question haha
