Got this popper. Its clear with a red mouth. In the mouth region is a small slot. If you blow through that slot, air escapes from slots in the gills (1 slot on each gill)

So this design is obviously meant for a purpose...what purpose would this play?

Anyone know who makes this popper ? If it proves to be a decent design, I want to know the proper name so I can maybe source others.

Megabass Pop Max maybe?  If so it is my favorite popper!

That might be a River2Sea Bubble Popper. There are several companies that make that style of popper with the gill slits.

I got a few of them, but different colors, from eBay last year. They were mega bass knock offs. After I took the split rings off, changed the hooks and added a feathered read hook, they worked pretty good. I still prefer Rebels and the SK's spit shads, but they do work

Megabass knockoff. It doesn't have the same balance or internal weight, and it doesn't have all of the gill slits. As well, it's missing the good hooks and finish.
