PABASS Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Anyone try out one of these frog lures out? They look legit and have seen a good number of you-tube videos on them. Quote
Coherence Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 The guy who makes these lives about 30 minutes south of me - kind of one of those local legend guys in the fishing community. Apparently a very stand-up type guy who will make sure you get exactly what you want as well. The baits are beyond ugly, but everyone, and I mean EVERYONE who I know that has used any of the baits from clatterbrat absolutely love them. I've considered investing in a few of these during the off-season when I go through my yearly fishing withdraw and start purchasing baits to get a mini-fix. I'll let you know if I do end up purchasing any - probably do a review of how they perform etc. Quote
shawnmc Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 The guy who makes them lives 30 minutes north of me. I have fished with Skip a number of times and am in some of his videos. They are ugly lets be honest, he knows that and doesn't care. They are meant to catch fish not fishermen. They work much better in the muck and cheese, not so much in the heavy and thick pads as the exposed hook is a hindrance. If you watch his vids you will see he hardly ever fished them in lily pads. You can walk them, chug them, and hop them. They are not cheap but he hand makes each and every one of them and I think it's worth having one. 1 Quote

These things are forming a mini-cult like following, and from the pictures and videos I have watched on youtube, it is deservedly so. P.S. Hello there Shawnmc - my fellow Delawarean, glad to see I am not the only one. 1 Quote
CTGalloway21 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I have 3 or 4 of them. Since i normally fish small creeks and rivers with shoals, I normally prefer a walk the dog bait. I have caught a few nice ones on it though at the lake. Quote
