HuntFishAK Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I have and use both. The thing I like about the ocho is it seems to be more durable. I've caught fish on both. more on the ocho but that's probably because I've thrown it more. They have a different action on the fall due to the difference in shape. You won't be disappointed in the either. Quote
aarogb Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I like the Ocho in Amistad Special color more than I like the Shimmy Stick. I think the Ocho is softer than the Shimmy Stick too. Quote
Texas10Man Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I have used both and they both catch fish. Ocho is super soft and costs more. The shimmy stick costs less and isn't as soft. I could not use the Ochos wacky rigged because they would tear off of the hook on the cast. For that reason I like the shim-e-sticks better. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 i liked the looks of the amistad special too... as for the wacky problem with the ocho... :'( i use o-rings, so i hope i have better luck... :-/ thanks for the input guys.. Quote
basser223 Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 The only way I can get anything other then shimie stick is if I drive for 3 hours. Shimie sticks work great and there cheap Quote
Sherlock 60 Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I haven't used the Ocho yet, but have used the Shimmy Sticks and they work well. I am a devout Senko user, but the Shimmy Sticks are a cheaper alternative. Not as soft as the Senko, and don't seem to get as many bites...maybe it is because they are a bit stiffer than the Senko. Profile is pretty much the same, though. Quote
