Curious what you guys are using for swimjig trailers and what may be a good alternative to the Rage Craws? Have been using Rage Craws and think they are awsome but the durability stinks and they are expensive. Seems you get a nibble and there goes one of the pinchers. I do love the action and was hoping to find a bait with similar action thats more durable and if possible less expensive. Some that I was thinking about were the Netbait Kicking B and the Zoom Speed Craws, if you have any experience with these it would be nice to hear the pros and cons. Also any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks fellers.

Just look back a few pages or search. This question was just asked not long ago.

I have only two that have worked very well. Berkely havoc subwoofers and Rage Tail Menace grubs. The menace grubs last about 10-12 good size fish. The Subwoofers last alot longer for me. Of course I have had subwoofers get their tail bit off on the first little dink too.

I really like the Subwoofers price. 2.99 an 8 pack and they have colors that match all 4 of my favorite North Star Flip n Swims. They are also on sale all the time for 1.99

I really like Kinami single tail grubs, Havoc Subwoofer, Rage Tail single tail grubs, Rage Tail Menace and Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper.

There really is no wrong trailer for a swim jig in my opinion.

I have a friend who ONLY uses NetBait Kickin B's as his swim jig trailers. He does really well with this technique to, one afternoon last Feb on Lay Lake he caught two over 6 pounds in less than a hour. He only buys three colors; white, green pumpkin, and black & blue. He was using a Blackend Blue 3/8oz Dirty Jigs no jack flipping jig and black & blue Kickin B the day he caught the two 6's. He's always a threat to walk away with your money in any tournament where there's a swim jig bite.

I've picked up a couple packs of the Kickin B's to try on his recommendation and I've fished them a couple of times now and like them very much. I was using the mini Kickin B's or the Kickin B chunks with pretty good luck but he will only use the "big" Kickin B's as he is wanting the BIG bite.

I've had good luck with Skinny Dippers, Grass Pigs, Paca Chunks, baby Paca Craws, Rage Craws, & Zoom swimming chunks to name a few. There are lots of options out there.

As mentioned, a Skinny Dipper is a nice and somewhat beefier trailer option.

Think about a Rage Tail Eeliminator.

Besides the classic swimming tail, this trailer choice adds a small but seductive side to side roll to the bait, especially on a slower retrieve.

So far mine have been narrowed down to the following based on my mood

Zoom Fat Albert Grub (single tail or dbl tail)

Havoc Subwoofer

Zoom Swimming Super Fluke (or Jr)

I try different trailers, but can't get away from the FAT ALBERT TWIN TAIL. They produce the best for me especially swimming them.

I have used many trailers on swim jigs of them I have had the best luck with these,  Fat Albert single tailed grubs, Kalins single tail grubs, Tigger X single tail grubs, Zoom paddle tail fluke, and the RI skinny dipper.  I have tried lots of trailers but these have consistently produced.

I am relatively new to the swim jig fold but I have had good success with 3.5" yum money minnows and here recently the stankxbaitco swanx solid body swimbait after shortening it about an inch or so.

Usually I use a Zoom super chunk, or salty chunk.  There are times when I will put the back half of a ribbon tail worm on.

i use Rage Chunks, they work great and are more durable than i thought they would be

Rage Menace vertical, and a Subwoofer have been good for me.

what weight swim jig are you throwing? I tried it on a half ounce and the weight overcame the tail and it just fluttered with less action than a grub...... maybe I need to retrieve slower?

I'm throwing 1/2 oz. almost exclusively.

My swim jig use is usually pretty deep, and so as you mentioned, I am using a slower retrieve.

The actually baits I use are pictured below.
