LARGEMOUTH ANGLER Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 quantum, suffix 832 and yum baits along with trokar hooks. Quote
OK Bass Hunter Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 When it comes to plastics it's Berkeley, Zoom, Strike King and GYCB. Quote
Bass Junkie Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I use whatever I find suits my needs, in texture, colors, profile, action, and price. I have at least nine different brands in my bag right now. Quote
YakenMax Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 jeez why hamstring yourself I ise rage tail, reaction innovations, zoom, northland, yamamoto, berkely, SK, jackall, yum, bps, and a few others each company makes a bait that I really like examples are I use rage shellcrackers and anacondas, reaction innovation skinny dippers and beavers, yamamota fat ikas, berkely chigger craws, pitboss and sickfish, SK rodents. never be brand loyal, find what works best for you and dont be afraid to try something new from someone else I think strike king owns rage tail Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted May 29, 2013 Super User Posted May 29, 2013 Brand Loyalty? What is that? I can't recall that any brand has shown any loyalty to me, either by giving me complementary products or reduced rate products or any stuff like that. Should that happen, I might change my attitude to brand loyalty. p.s. - even the North American Fishing Club, which in their numerous solicitations to me, practically promised that I would become an official fishing gear tester, never actually came through on that point. That was disappointing. 1 Quote
CountBassula Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 i'll use whatever will catch fish and couldn't care less about brands of my lures. i like zoom flukes, swim flukes, and lizards. i have some gambler and gary yamamoto lures too, as well as KVD and Booyah frogs. now, i'm all about shimano when it comes to rods and reels. shimano always treated me good when i was doing bicycle racing (sports bikes, long road trips and racing) and so it was natural to go with it, plus LgMouthGambler insisted REALLY hard that I do :-P Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 29, 2013 Super User Posted May 29, 2013 I'm not brand loyal, though there are a few brands that I am more willing to try out newly released baits. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 29, 2013 Super User Posted May 29, 2013 I wouldn't call it brand loyalty. I use the baits because I like them. If a Co. stops making a certain bait, or changes a bait, I will start using baits from another Co. 1 Quote
Basscook Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I don't know why, but I always go for Zoom U-tails. I will try others from time to time, but these are my comfort worms. Colors I ahve two favs, watermelon, and June Bug. I started with Zooms for the low $, and have come to love the swim action of the U tail. I have added more bass to my bag than any other lure with these, so they will always be in my box. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted June 5, 2013 Super User Posted June 5, 2013 IMO brand loyalty goes hand in hand with confidence. With that being said I have my brand preferences which vary by bait. Hawgs - Zoom Finesse Worm - Strike King/Megastrike Senko - Yamamoto Grubs - Zoom Fat Albert Frog - Strike King Finesse Tubes - Gitzit Flipping Tubes - Megastrike etc. With that being said I challenge my favorites all the time when I "fun fish" (non tournament). I am not afraid to change if something new clearly works better. For tournaments if all about my confidence baits! Quote
arcticcattom Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 THIS is exactly why I make my own soft plastics. I take and combine all the things I like about different lures/brands into one! I think the confidence factor has a huge effect on fishing. At least for myself, when I have a strong confidence in one of my handmade baits it makes all the difference in catching a fish. Quote
