OkeechobeeAngler Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Anyone got one ? How is it Pitchin and flippin ? Thinking about picking one up. Thanks. Quote
TNBassin' Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I don't have the heavy, but I have a MH and it's pretty true to it's power rating. The *** rods are simply amazing. Quote
MrSwimJig Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I have the 7' 3" MH/F and it is a great rod especially for the price. You can get 15% off right now at Tackle Warehouse so at that price it would really be hard to not pick one up and try it out. Quote
OkeechobeeAngler Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 Debating on this and a Powell 766 H. Thanks. Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted May 25, 2013 Super User Posted May 25, 2013 I spoke with a friend of mine about these rods yesterday. He is a very good angler and recently decided to switch from Falcon Rods to the *** rods. He first told me that he loves the rods, the sensitivity is great and they are made with very good components. He then told me that he has broken two rods, a casting and a spinning. He went on to tell me about the great customer service he has had, they replaced both rods no questions asked and did not even ask him to return the broken rods. He also has a few rods that are on backorder and the company sent him similar rods to use while he waits for the ones he ordered to become available. The breaking of the rods concerns me, but the customer service in as good as I have heard of. Quote
TNBassin' Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I've got a buddy that has 10 Omens and has had no issues out of any of them. I have one and so far so good. Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted May 25, 2013 Super User Posted May 25, 2013 I just purchased a 7'3 H a few days ago. It's good for the price point but I didn't care for it that much to use for flipping and pitching. 1 it starts to hurt my fingers/hand how I hold it. 2 it tip wrapped like crazy on me. 3 with a Lews TP it felt heavy. Not a huge issue since I can put a different reel on it. Never had tip wrap with my Powell 7'6 so idk what was going on. It'll become my frog rod since my powell doubles as a frog rod too. It does have good cosmetics, true to power, nice grips, pricing, sensitive Quote
jherm87 Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I love mine, I did break it, but it was my fault. It got replaced for free so no issue there. I just bought a 7'1 medium as well. Hopefully they hold up, but very happy so far. Customer service was great Quote
Super User Teal Posted May 26, 2013 Super User Posted May 26, 2013 Hmmmmm the powell 766 is a beast and can be had for 110 right now.... 1 Quote
