unageo09 Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I caught a big ole bunch of nothing yesterday. Every other cast seemed like i was getting hung up. I was throwing in places I was confident there would be fish but alas there was none. Guy told us he was tearing up the smallmouth from the boat ramp at riverfront park in shefffield to where they built that new walkway. They may have moved out of there for now but might be a good place to start if you are up that way. Quote
Jack Fate Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Ledge fishing has been pretty hot lately using swimbaits and 5XD or 6XD cranks. The Everstart and last week the College Tourney was won on Pickwick using this method. I haven't been having much luck with the shallow bite lately. All my big fish have been caught in deeper water the last couple of weeks Quote
KevO Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Got on them pretty good in the Waterloo area on Saturday. Fishing ledges in about 20 FOW with football jigs, we caught 35 in the 2-3# range. Quote
tsparks Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I'm looking at taking my dad this weekend. Has anyone had any luck shallow? Topwater? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 11, 2013 Super User Posted June 11, 2013 Nope. The bass are concentrated on ledges. 1 Quote
tsparks Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I went out Sunday for the first time this year, and caught 5-6 on a green lizard. I tried shallow, but all were caught out closer to the boat Quote
