So I have my gen 3 winch set up with 15lb invisx and I use it for squarebills, but every time I cast it I can hear a "click click click" from inside the sideplate with the brakes. I have my mags off and 2 of my centrifugal brakes set on (opposite of each other) Anyone know why its making that sound?

That has the Infini brake system right? Like the STX? I'd say it's either the brake race is dirty, or the screws that hold the bearings/brake race to the side plate may be loose. Did you try to click on 2 different tabs to see if it still made the noise?

Ya I tried the same set up with all 6 brakes. Gonna go check what u just suggested.

Btw whats a brake race?

It's that gold ring in the side plate. Get a q tip and some alcohol and rub it around there. After, I always take a dot of oil and stick it on my finger and rub it around there. Not too much though, just a VERY thin coat. You don't wanna tighten those screws too much. See if the part that's screwed into the side plate has any wiggle to it. If not, it should be ok. If you tighten it down too much, it makes putting the side plate back on the reel a little tougher. Any burrs or anything on the ends of those brake tabs?

I cleaned the whole reel top to bottom but its still making the noise when I cast, I find that if I put the mag on abit the sound isn't as loud. (Wasn't really that loud in the first place, just annoying)

So you figured it was, it was the cam lock screw. But why would it make that noise, I had it tightened down with my thumb before - I used a flat head to make it a little more snug and the noise is gone.
