Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 Are you catching fish on other baits in the same locations? Cant catch something that isnt there... 2 Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 I normally use beaver styled baits on a jig and more so when I Flip or Pitch. I'm not sure why they aren't hitting it. Of course you put a general statement though. Like the previous post, do you know if there is fish? have you caught fish with a different plastic? Are you using the same color? ..etc could be a lot of things. Quote

CTGalloway21 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I started using a beaver this past year and have also yet to get a bite. Paca Craws on the other hand are beastly. 1 Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 It's like this story. A guy has a tough time making decisions. First, he decides to buy one of two boats and the one he selects sinks the first time out. Then he has to decide which son to bring into his business. The one he selects steals all the money and runs away. Lastly, he gives the wife an ultimatum to stop seeing the pastor or leave. She leaves. So, with all this bad luck, he decides to fly to Australia. On the way to Austraila over the Pacific Ocean the plane has engine trouble and sure enough, he could have sat next to the window or asile and the flight crew pulls the seats next to the window which he was sitting to have those passengers parachute out to lighten up the aircraft. He has two parachutes to select from and he selects the defective one. Of course, when he pulls the string the chute does not open and the emergency cord does not work. So he starts to pray to St. Francis, his favorite saint. A hand comes out of the clouds and catches him and asks "St. Francis of Assisi or St. Francis of Cupertino?" "Cupertino!" he yelled. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh splat! So to answer your question you may be have to try other presentations with your Beaver. Don't peg it. Fish it weightless. Let it fall slow. Have it fall fast. Change to another color. Use another style. Peg the sinker. Use a weedless hook. Go with a heavy hook. Go with a light hook. Use an EWG hook. Have the weight on the hook, itself, like the Owner Beast. Use lighter line. Flip and pitch it all over the place. Cast it out and bounce it back. Cut the legs so you have six instead of four. Use scent. Dip the tail in lime JJs or Spike-It. Etc., etc., etc. You have to make the correct choice for the water, sky and all other conditions. Or we will hear you yell Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh splat!!! 2 Quote
