Everyone From Okc Ok?

I hope all our members in the OKC area are ok. I've been glued to the TV for a few hours and the footage is absolutely stunning and horrific.

I'm an hour and a half away. My wife has a mom and sister there and they are well. My heart goes out to all that have lost loved ones. Most especially the children. It is absolutely gut wrenching. I hope everyone in that area is safe and sound as well.

My heart is just broken for the people of south OKC. I spent about 5 yrs in Moore. It's just a quaint suburb full of the nicest people you'd ever want to know. All of my friends and their kids are ok. I know that we have several members from the area--hopefully they will be checking in when they can.

I'm hearing reports that the people that witnessed the devastating tornado in 1999, are saying this one is 3 times as bad.

We got lucky here. About 20-25 miles away today. Yesterday we had one touch down a half mile from the house.

The biggest prayers need to be for the students over at plaza tower school. 30-50 kids still missing. Over half of the confirmed killed are kids.

My heart goes out to those people who suffered so much loss.  Mother Nature can be a cruel and unpredictable mistress.  After two years of devastating drought in Oklahoma, she decides to redeem herself with torrential rain and tornados.  Very little of the rain soaks in where it's needed.  Too much, too fast, so it simply runs off.  And the tornados, another evil concoction that defies rationality.
