ok, so I have decided to enter the fray of deep cranking.

I am looking to get some 5xd,6xds, and 10xds.

what i am looking for from yall, is colors. What do you look at to throw?

I like Chartruse sexy shad and citrus shad for sure(I think), but really have an open mind.

lets hear about them colors!!!!

Citrus shad and powder blue back chartreuse are my 2 favorites. Also I use sexy ghost minnow, chartreuse shad, black back chartreuse and sexy shad. Neon Blue gill is good too.

As cliche as it sounds and as much as I hate even typing this color, that dang Sexy Shad just flat out catches fish. I prefer the 5XD over just about anything else for deep cranking.

If I may suggest trying out the NXS cranks by Norman. I may like them more than the 5xds, and they have some great colors.

yeap, all the colors you listed TN Basin I WANT....but kinda want to limit it to 3 colors as I will not be throwing them that often but just need the basics of the technique.

also, am I good to go with 12#flouro or should I go a different #?

In the clear water I fish, the 5 & 6XD in Clear and Chartreuse Sexy Shad get bit.

The silent version out produces the rattler 2 : 1.

you just HAD TO bring up silent vs rattles didnt you????

I always wondered what difference rattles really make. That said I never throw a jig without rattles........ I really dont want to get into the deal where I get one and wish I had the other.

I think here, silent is fine.

TN Bassin.........only 3 (maybe 4) wish I could just do 2. I can get spun out real easy, if I dont make it real simple and limit choices LOL

Check out the 6th Sense Crush 300DD Deep Diving Crankbait.

This one quickly becoming a fan favorite.

Designed to quickly and efficiently dive to depths of 14-19 feet with less drag.

A faint rattle chamber also creates a light knocking sound that provokes strikes without spooking finicky fish.

Comes with Sharp VMC black nickel hooks and top-of-the-line paint schemes with realistic 3D gill plates, 3D eyes, and 3D scales.

Very reasonable price point too.

My Pb was caught on a Bomber BD8SF citrus shad.  Plus the other cranks.  Like most strike king lures though, hooks need to be changed.  If you want cranks to fish straight out of the box, CBD20's, 6th Sense and Spro DD.

Chartreuse black back, blue gizzard shad, green gizzard shad and sexy shad are my favorite colors. I use the first two the most and I also use the rattlers.  I also use 10 pound mono.

Get the Tim Horton Switch Back Shad by Bomber, they come in all the great colors listed above and you can make each bait silent or rattle.  Plus the stock Tx3 hooks are stupid sticky.

Green Gizzard shad is my personal favorite in the SK line up. A silent Series 5 in green gizzard shad is what caught the fish in my avatar. It just seems to catch big fish around here for some reason. It kind of looks like a shad, kind of like a juvenile gill, kind of like a bass, and bass love it.

Check out the Bandit 250 Ledge also. Another affordable bait with a few different paint schemes that SK doesn't offer. Just like the SK baits make sure you change the hooks out before you fish them though.
